The right to read is fundamental—it is the cornerstone of a free and informed society. Access to diverse books helps us build empathy, strengthen critical thinking, and thoughtfully engage with the world around us.

Ending Banned Books Week with a Read-In is a powerful act of celebration and advocacy. By reading aloud, we stand up for the freedom to read, honor the stories that connect us, and affirm our shared commitment to intellectual freedom for all students.

To celebrate our right and freedom to read, Library & Textbook Support invites all schools to join a districtwide Read-In by pausing at 10:00 a.m. this Friday to read for 10 minutes. We recognize this is short notice, but we’re confident in your leadership to rally your school community in honoring this important event.
